I hope you find the answers to any questions you may have on this page.  If there is anything else you wish to know please just ask.

Q.  What area do you cover ?

A.  I travel within an eight mile radius of Coalpit Heath.  I will travel further afield but this will incurr an extra charge of  50p a mile and is subject to a minimum treatment value of £35.  I may also travel a bit further than eight miles at no extra charge if more than one person books a treatment at the same location.

Q.  How much space do you need?

A.  I need a clear space of at least 2.5 x 3 metres to set up the massage couch and work comfortably all around it.

Q.  Are there any reasons why I can't be massaged?

A.  Yes, if you have a fever or have any contageous conditions I cannot massage you as treatment would be contra-indicated.  I also wouldn't do a massage if you know you are pregnant and are at less than twelve weeks gestation.  Some other conditions such as diabetes, recent surgery, unstable blood pressure, epilepsy  and cancer will require permission from GP for treatment to take place.  If during your consultation I find that you have a medical condition that I cannot work around I may ask you to get your GP's permission either verbally or in writing or I may refuse treatment so if you have a condition that you're not sure about it is best to mention it when you book your appointment.

Q.  Do I need to do anything?

A.  No you don't.  I bring all the equipment I need including towels, oils and music - of course you are free to choose your own music too!  Try not to eat a large meal before treatment or drink alcohol.

Q.  What will happen?

A.  I will arrive at the arranged time and ask you to show me where to set up.  I will give you a consultaion form to fill out while I set up the massage couch.  We will go through your consultation to check for any contra-indications and to decide how best to tailor the treatment to your needs.  You will need to undress to your underwear and lay on the couch where you will be covered will towels. I will usually make myself scarce and wash my hands ready for treatment while you undress and make yourself comfortable unless you need help.  I only ever uncover the body part which I am massaging to protect your modesty and keep you warm.  If you are having a full body massage I will tell you beforehand which way to lay and the order in which I'll work so there are no surprises.  You're free to chat during your massage but most people prefer to lay quietly and just enjoy the treatment and this if fine.  I will tell you when the treatment is over and leave you get up slowly while I again wash my hands.  It is nice to have a robe to hand to just slip on.  I will pack away and leave you to put your feet up and drink plenty of water.

Q.  Do you massage men?

A.  I do but only if the male client is referred to me by someone I already know.

Q.  How can I pay?

A.  You can pay me by cash or cheque payable to massage-direct, before or after treatment.  If you wish to pay on your card you can do so in advance through the online shop on this website.
